Open Source CRM Zurmo Releases Version 0.8.0, Email and Theming Added

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 29, 2012

The Open Source CRM project Zurmo today announced the immediate availability of Zurmo Version 0.8.0. The most significant addition to the new release is the ability to send emails directly from within the application. This new functionality tightens communication trails associated with records in the system. Aesthetic enhancements include the option to vary the theme and texture of the application. A recent engineering improvement is the integration of Sentry, an application that allows users to automatically submit error reports to the Zurmo engineering department directly from the user interface.

User Interface for Sending Emails

Zurmo users will now have the ability to send emails directly within the system. This centralizes data and eliminates the need for complicated integration tools. One of the major goals of Zurmo is to create an application that can serve as the Center of Gravity for salespeople, marketing professionals, and customer service reps. In terms of enabling users to accomplish the bulk of what needs to be done to drive revenue and keep customers happy under one roof, the most recent Zurmo releases have been significant.

In 2013 people should not constantly need to go from one application to another in order to communicate and do their jobs effectively, states Zurmo Co-Founder Ray Stoeckicht. With Zurmo, we encourage users to communicate with one another through the applications intuitive, Social CRM platform. In a utopian world, there would be no email. But we have to acknowledge the reality that email still serves a major purpose for all organizations. In order to encourage users to stay inside the application, weve included a powerful email engine that links messages to records.”

Addition of Themes

Visual improvements include the option to change the applications color theme and texture to match user preferences. Zurmo is the main business application used by anyone with a customer-facing function. People are logged in for hours at a time. Just as someone should have a say in the aesthetics of their physical surroundings, they should also have a say in the appearance of the software they use, states Stafford McKay, Jr., Director of Marketing and Community Management for Zurmo. If you are finding those bone-white walls to be ever more lackluster and you need a little inspiration, then go ahead, paint them mango tango.

Integration with Sentry

An organic element to the Zurmo Engineering ethos is maintaining Open Source software that is clean and highly conducive to further development by contributors. This goal is evident in the utilization of a strict Test Driven Development methodology and also by the elimination of bugs before they become an issue. Integration with Sentry allows users to automatically submit error reports to the Zurmo engineering department directly from the user interface.

Integration with Sentry is something that our technical contributors will appreciate because they no longer need to go through the tedious process of submitting a bug report states Zurmo Co-Founder and Lead Developer Jason Green. This seamless process saves time and reduces the resistance to report issues because the effort required to do so is now significantly lower.

Comm100 Proclaims: Leverage Pinterests Popularity to Increase the Effectiveness of Email Marketing Campaigns

Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) May 04, 2012

Pinterests meteoric rise up the social media ladder shows that clearly, it must be doing something right. After careful consideration of the elements behind the social platforms popularity, as well as in-depth access to email marketing conversion analytics, Comm100 developed the following list of recommendations.

1. Make It Visual – Pinterest is a virtual pin board that relies heavily on the visual. Integrating visual elements throughout an email keep the reader engaged and interested. Visuals illustrate and emphasize ideas much more powerfully than mere words by causing the left and right sides of the brain to work together. However, it is important for email composers to remember to use visuals sparingly as many email clients block visuals. Just like a well-created Pinterest board, visuals should balance the rest of the content and text in email.

2. Make It Easily Digestible – At a glance, a first-time Pinterest visitor can figure out what the site is about. A successful email is likewise easy to figure out. Additionally, the comment section on an individual pin is most effective when it is short, to the point, applicable to other pinners and personal. Email marketers should use these methods when crafting their email subject lines to increase the open rates on an email.

3. Make It Shareable – Sharing is the heart of Pinterests platform. An effective email contains information worth sharing and an easy way to share that information, such as a “forward this email to a friend” action button. Also, social sharing buttons and social media icons are commonly considered a must-have element of any well-executed email campaign.

4. Keep Spam Out Of It – Pinterest recently came into the crosshairs of spammers and that influx of spam has aggravated the whole community. The outrage felt by loyal pinners is similar to the feelings of email readers when they are being spammed via email. Smart email marketers will avoid spamming or causing their list to feel as though they are being spammed, by not emailing too frequently and by providing valuable content and information, not just a sales pitch.

5. Make Action Easy – Hovering over an individual pin on Pinterest pops up a “Repin” button. With two simple clicks, a user can pin a discovery to their own board. This ease of action is duplicated in an email when the call to action process is just as easy.

According to Amy Gu, VP of Comm100, “Imitation is the highest form of flattery, and it’s also smart business acumen to imitate a successful social model. By integrating elements of Pinterest into email marketing campaigns, marketers can dramatically increase their open, click-through and conversion rates. ”

StreamSend, a leading email marketing service provider and creator of the social marketing tool suite StreamSend Share, has named the three steps to successfully guide businesses in creating social marketing campaigns that add new social fans and build relationships with existing fans.

Businesses can now leverage the power of social media to create profitable relationships, said Dan Forootan, president of StreamSend Email Marketing. Each campaign creates a series of social contact points where customers can like or share the message, and send that message further into the social network to find more customers. Just how far it travels depends on the content value and how well the social campaign is executed. Here are the three important steps that clients report make the biggest difference for them.

AltFuse Email Service Provider to Expand on its Services

(PRWEB) May 31, 2012

Alternative Fuse the free and paid email service provider went public from its Beta version earlier this year now the email company is expected to further develop its platform. Currently, the user database stands at around 5,000 users; however, the developers have stated their intention to eventually close out the service to new free users in order to make sufficient space available for users willing to pay. Those users who do pay can expect to see the bulk of the benefits aimed their way; these benefits include the expansion of spam and virus protection provided by a renowned protection service to be named later.

Most people who register with free popular email services dont understand that there are other services out there and that some of them offer better protection, disk space, functionality, and more, the problem is that someone would have to spend the time to find such a service and most people are contempt with the likes of Gmail because it is what is out there. The problem is that many people spend the bulk of their daily time communicating via email these days, therefore it hardly makes sense to commit to the first service provider that comes along just because it is what everybody else uses.

The solution is Alternative Fuse, as stated earlier this secure email service picks up where many mainline providers left off, and best yet currently it is a free webmail service for everyone, with premium options available. This offer to free users, and even yet this discounted premium offer is not expected to last when Alternative Fuse updates its servers to a much more efficient standard. Please Note: Alternative Fuse is also an unlimited webmail storage provider for both email and file storage. The service allows users to categorize and organize there Notes, Files, Email, Address Book, Contact List, and Calendar to customizable options so that people who are busy with life, work, kids, hobbies, family, and other things can maintain that high standard without sacrificing important features or time.

Alternative Fuse also maintains a high standard of support for members in need; it does this by actively monitoring a forum and taking questions directly via email. Of course, this is another feature which it pays to be a premium member as the response time for premium members is usually less than 24 hours versus 72-96 for free members. All-in -all Alternative Fuse with its unlimited storage, multiple capabilities including file storage, dedicated support, and advanced options templates is a wise investment especially considering that it is now being offered at a low rate of $ 10 per year.

Faced with so many different choices among email solutions, particularly now that email and social have joined forces, many businesses want to know how tough it is to create email campaigns, said Dan Forootan, president of StreamSend Email Marketing. The answer is that it can be easy, if they keep it simple and follow some key steps that let them take advantage of existing technology and solutions. Vocus Offers 30-Day Starter Plan for Email Marketing with iContact 30-Day Free Trial

BELTSVILLE, MD (PRWEB) June 28, 2012

For all the new communications tools social media has brought, email is still a pillar of marketing; some would argue email was among the earliest social mediums. According to the 2012 Social Media Marketing Industry Report, 87% of marketers still use email and for good reason: it works.

For every dollar marketing spends on email marketing, it gets $ 40 in return, said Geoffrey Alexander, director of ecommerce at iContact, which Vocus (NASDAQ: VOCS), a leading provider of cloud marketing software, acquired earlier this year. Social media helps build awareness, but email provides an opportunity for a more personalized conversation to close deals; we see the success of social deal sharing sites as validation of this idea.

Although professional marketers tap email as a proven and powerful vehicle for reaching targeted segments throughout the buying cycle, from initial engagement and sale to loyalty and retention Alexander believes many small- and medium-sized businesses (SMB) still struggle with simply getting started. Thats why the company has launched the 30-Day Starter Plan for Email Marketing, to complement its 30-day free trial offer.

The pain point we see the most is confidence: simply tackling the challenge of what to say, how to design it, and who to send it to can seem daunting, added Alexander. But thats a perception problem that can easily be solved with the right resources. The starter plan is aimed at demystifying email marketing and helping those SMBs get up and running quickly.

The starter plan notes that email marketing is a permission-based marketing solution, meaning it should be used to reach only individuals who have granted permission to receive marketing information. The plan is designed to help take those new to email marketing from rookie to pro with a 10-step guide that also offers suggestions on how email marketing can be used from product updates and promotions to daily deals and customer surveys, among others.

Over time, and with experimentation, SMBs will learn the finer details of best practices in email marketing, such as the best time for their organization to send emails, what content resonates and how to segment audiences to tailor messages to specific needs.

The biggest hurdle is simply getting started, said Alexander. Once started, marketers will quickly realize the potential for developing lasting, personalized relationships with customers and prospects through email marketing.

As added piece of mind, the new or seasoned email marketer will have access to iContacts award-winning support team. Whether its a question about uploading a list, choosing a template, understanding reporting or complex technical challenges, the iContact team serves as a valuable resource and makes themselves easily accessible via phone, chat or email whichever method is preferred by the user.

The starter plan is freely available online, with registration, and can be found by visiting the iContact website: https://www.icontact.com/email-marketing-how-to.
