APT Announces Asset Strategy Library (ASL) Release 11 (R11)

Corrales, NM (PRWEB) May 31, 2012

Asset Performance Technologies, Inc. (APT) announced today that it has released the Asset Strategy Library (ASL) Release 11 (R11) to its customers and partners. R11 includes 18 new and 27 modified equipment types: cooling towers, horizontal pumps (single stage, single and double suction) , and a variety of medium voltage motors (horizontal and vertical). According to Mark Benak, CEO, We continue to grow our ASL offering as planned and are very excited about the next release which will include Combustion Turbines (CTs), Heat Steam Recovery Generators (HRSGs) and auxiliaries, resulting from our current data collection efforts with the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) for its Combined Cycle Maintenance Basis program.

Roughly half of APTs Asset Strategy Library (ASL) is currently in use in the vast majority of the nuclear power generation facilities in the U.S., as well as in Japan and South Korea. Additionally, the APT ASL has been used successfully in the Oil and Gas and other asset-intensive industries. R11 includes 424 asset strategy templates, comprising:

29,000 Failure Modes, Degradation Mechanisms and Influences (FMEA)

2,800 PM Task and Interval Recommendations

91,000 As Found Reportable Conditions (Failure Codes)

that address a broad range of infrastructure equipment (e.g. pumps, valves, motors, and compressors) and are universally applicable to asset-intensive industries.

The ASL R11 is the worlds most comprehensive library of asset strategies for industrial equipment and is not simply a collection of results from single Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analyses, dependent on a particular operating context of the equipment under analysis. Rather, the ASL knowledge was captured from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), representing over 17,000 man-years of experience, across multiple plants and industries over the past 16 years with consistent, expert facilitation. The ASL recommendations are valid for the complete range of known operating conditions. The operating context for your plants equipment is then defined by the selections of Functional Importance (a.k.a. Criticality), Duty Cycle, and Service Conditions. With PM task effectiveness mapped to each failure mode, the ASL sets a new standard for Asset Performance Management (APM) in asset-intensive industries. Meridium APM customers can also purchase the APT ASL for use in a variety of Meridium products. Ivara EXP customers can also purchase the APT ASL from the EXP Cloud.

About Asset Performance Technologies

Royalty Free Music Library Introduces Redesigned Website with New File Formats and “User Friendly” Utilities

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 27, 2012

Los Angeles based royalty free music library, CSS Music, has launched a new more ergonomic website (http://www.cssmusic.com). The new site was built from the ground up to achieve ease of use with little or no scrolling required to see all of the sites features. In addition to .wav files at both 44.1 and 48khz and .mp3 320s, CSSMusic.com also offers Apple Lossless and .aiff files.

Weve wanted to add Apple Lossless for some time, says CSS Marketing Director, Mike Fuller. Apple Lossless delivers files about 1/3 the size of a wav file but with absolutely no sound degradation. As the name implies — without loss. We offer Apple Lossless on both our single track downloads and our virtual CD downloads — fast downloading without compromise. And for those purists who still demand an uncompressed file but want an alternative to the venerable .wav file, weve now added .aiff files as well.

In todays competitive marketplace, Fuller continued, a library website has to put as few hurdles in the way as possible, not only to allow available features to be seen quickly but to streamline the all important music search and review process. I think weve made good progress. Our visitors can be listening to music in less than 10 seconds. And with 3 search systems and a playlist utility, they can sort, organize and catalog their music, communicate with colleagues and when ready download quickly.

While royalty free music libraries dont get public performance royalties from producers, they often earn this type of income from performance rights organizations (PROs) like BMI, ASCAP and SESAC in the United States. Although there are now music recognition services that report directly to the PROs or fill out cue sheets for some producers, most libraries still depend on their broadcast content clients to submit copies of Music Cue Sheets to aid the collection of performance revenue. This is often viewed by producers as a tedious time consuming process. The new CSS Music site, however, introduces a new feature dubbed Cue Sheet-O-Matic which enables producers to auto-fill and auto-file cue sheets, create cue sheet templates and store submitted cue sheets for editing or revision.

If there is one immutable truth in the music library business, Fuller opined, its that producers truly hate filling out cue sheets. But its a vitally important function that not only enables writers to be paid for their creativity and hard work but also helps keep direct music costs down. Cue Sheet-O-Matic takes a lot of the pain out of the process and actually helps producers keep their content organized. Of course for those who just insist on filling out an old fashioned cue sheet, we have a downloadable cue sheet pdf on our site as well.

CSS Music has served the Audio Visual / Video industry since 1982 and offers 17 libraries and 12,000+ tracks of royalty free music and sound effects. The music offered for license is owned exclusively by CSS Music with no re-titled tracks. CSS Music is part of the Digital Audio Worldwide Network (D.A.W.N.

New, free, ebook about computer music library management is released.

(PRWEB) September 06, 2012

“Music Library Management” was published today as a free ebook available for download. The author, Dan Gravell, is a computer music library expert with over sixteen years of experience in computer audio. The ebook is a broad introduction to building, organising and maintaining a computer music library.

Dan Gravell is the founder of elsten software and writes ‘bliss’, computer software to automate the organisation of computer music libraries. bliss has been downloaded over 100,000 times since being launched in November 2009.

“I receive email from a lot of new purchasers of devices like Sonos, Linn DS, Squeezebox and similar home music systems” said Gravell. “The devices work well but there’s a lot of ‘best practice’ involved in ensuring your music library looks as good as it sounds. That means making the music navigable by ‘tagging’ music files and recognisable through the use of artwork. This book is an attempt to collect together much of the first principles of computer music library management.”

The ebook covers a broad range of subjects, ideal for those new to the area to understand various aspects of computer music library management. The ebook starts by discussing the best ways of acquiring new music, from online sources or ripping from CDs. The most efficient and flexible ways of storing your music are discussed, along with choosing between the different music file formats. Much of the ‘meat’ of the book is devoted to ways of organising your music library so it is set up to be navigated and browsed in the best way possible. Finally, an important chapter discusses ways of protecting your music library from accidental data loss, virii and hackers.

The ebook is available in PDF, EPUB and MOBI (for Kindle) formats. To download a copy, visit http://www.blisshq.com/music-library-management-ebook.html .
